Founded in 2021, ss space space is a research collective centred on the concept of 'space'. Encompassing public programming, artistic creation, research, and writing, our practice expanded in 2023 with the establishment of an artist-run space. We are dedicated to exploring contemporary art practices through ongoing collaborations with both local and international practitioners.
Whilst we have curated and facilitated numerous exhibitions and international projects, we recognise the inherent limitations of our own curatorial lens. To ensure our space remains a truly open platform, we have launched this Open Call. Our objective is to cultivate an inclusive environment where fresh voices, innovative practices, and pioneering research can be brought to the fore.
We believe an exhibition should extend beyond a singular, static presentation. Building upon our established methodology of 'co-learning and co-working', this programme transcends traditional exhibition models. Prior to the final presentation, the selected applicant will undertake a six-month Artist Development Programme orchestrated by the ss space space team. Together, we will refine the exhibition's conceptual framework, engaging in reading groups, studio visits, and workshops as required. Through the provision of comprehensive administrative, marketing, and public relations support, we aim to foster a close, organic collaboration that brings the selected proposal to full fruition.
Furthermore, we seek to cultivate enduring relationships with our selected applicants, exploring avenues for future collaboration well beyond the culmination of this programme. Within the artistic ecosystem, we hold a firm belief: whilst one might travel faster alone, together we can travel further. 成立於 2021 年,ss space space 是一個以「空間」為題的研究團隊,其實踐橫跨公眾企劃、創作、研究與書寫,並於 2023 年成立其藝術家自營空間,持續與台灣及國際藝術工作者合作,致力探索當代藝術實踐。
過去這段時間,我們曾策劃並推動許多展演與國際合作企劃;然而,我們深知自己視角必然有其侷限,因此,為了持續讓空間保持開放,本次徵件計畫應運而生——我們期待以此建立一個開放的平台,讓嶄新的聲音、創作與研究得以被看見。
對於我們來說,一檔展覽不應僅僅是一次性的成果展示。在過往的合作中,我們持續推動「共同學習、共同工作」的方法學,而本計畫將延續上述的工作方法——在展覽完整呈現前,獲選者將參與 ss space space 團隊規劃,為期半年的「藝術家培力計畫(Artist Development Programme)」。我們將一同梳理展覽概念,並視需求一同進行文本閱讀、工作室拜訪、工作坊等活動,並由我們提供行政、行銷與公關資源,與獲選者展開密切且有機的協作,使計畫得以完整落成。
此外,我們更期待在計畫結束後,能與獲選者持續保持未來各式合作的契機。在藝術的生態網絡中,我們始終深信一個人也許走得比較快,但是一群人可以一起走得更遠。透過本次的徵件計畫,我們相當期待你的加入,與 ss space space 共同推進當代視覺語彙的嶄新可能。
ELIGIBILITY
This Open Call is open to all arts practitioners, artists, curators, and researchers, regardless of gender, nationality, age, ethnicity, or educational background.
Applications are welcome from both individuals and collectives. However, each applicant or collective may submit only one proposal.
The proposed project must feature entirely new work that has not been previously exhibited, or represent a significant new phase of an ongoing project.
Applicants must be able to commit fully to the entire timeline, encompassing the Artist Development Programme (October 2026 – April 2027) and the preparation and execution of the exhibition and its associated public events (May – June 2027).

WHAT SELECTED ARTISTS CAN EXPECT
The selected applicant (or collective) will collaborate closely with ss space space to realise their exhibition, receiving the following support:
Exhibition Production Grant
A grant of NTD 22,000. These funds may be allocated at the applicant's discretion towards materials, equipment hire, local transport, and the shipping of artworks.
Artist Development Programme
A six-month period of in-depth collaboration with the ss space space team (October 2026 – April 2027), comprising online or in-person meetings every one to two months. Tailored to the selected proposal, the programme may include:
Studio visits
Exhibition production workshops
Reading groups
Exhibition layout and spatial planning
Refinement of curatorial narratives
Planning of public events during the exhibition run
Technical advice for installation and de-installation
Editorial support for bilingual (Traditional Chinese/English) texts
Guidance on grant applications and fundraising
Exhibition Space and Equipment
Complimentary use of the ss space space galleries and in-house equipment during the designated dates. This includes basic installation tools, spotlights, paint, and filler. Any additional equipment must be sourced by the applicant.
Public Programming
We encourage the selected applicant to host one public event during the exhibition run, such as a workshop, performance, reading group, or lecture. Should you choose to do so, the format and logistics will be developed collaboratively, with associated costs supported by ss space space.
Marketing and Public Relations
Comprehensive support including key visual design, bilingual press releases, social media promotion, and event marketing.
Arts Administration
Photographic documentation of the exhibition, production of promotional collateral, gallery maintenance, and the management of artwork sales and after-sales service.

獲選者(或團隊)將與 ss space space 一同規劃與執行展覽,並獲得下方經費、藝術家培力計畫、行政與技術支援:
展覽製作經費補助
新台幣 22,000 元整。經費可運用於材料費、設備租借、交通與作品運輸等,由獲選者自行分配。
藝術家培力計畫(Artist Development Programme)

於指定檔期間無償使用 ss space space 展覽場地與館內設備,包含布撤展基本工具、投射燈、油漆與補土等。惟設備不足之處仍須由獲選者自行規劃。
公眾活動
獲選者於展期間可規劃一場公眾活動,包含但不限於藝術家工作坊、表演、讀書會、講座等。活動細節如執行規劃、報名方式等將由獲選者與 ss space space 討論;公眾活動衍生之費用由 ss space space 支持。
行銷與公關
主視覺設計、中英文雙語展覽文案撰寫、社群媒體發佈與宣傳、展期間活動規劃等。
藝術行政
展場攝影紀錄、展覽文宣製作、場館維護與清潔、作品販售與售後服務等。

HOW TO APPLY
Applications will close at 23:59 (GMT+8) on 31 August 2026. To apply, please complete the online form below and upload the required documentation. Each applicant may submit only one application; collectives should nominate a single representative to apply on their behalf.
Upon selection, the ss space space team will work closely with the successful applicant to finalise the exhibition. Recognising artistic practice as a highly organic process, we welcome final outcomes that evolve from the initial proposal, authentically reflecting the progression and experimentation of the creative journey.
To maintain the professional standard and sustainability of our Open Call, a non-refundable application fee of EUR 15 is required (payable via PayPal). As an independent, artist-run initiative, ss space space values every resource. This fee ensures all proposals receive rigorous consideration and contributes to the operational costs of the review process, the Artist Development Programme, and exhibition production.

此外,為維持徵件機制的專業性與永續經營,本次徵件將收取新台幣 400 元之申請費用(透過銀行轉帳或 Paypal 線上支付,以 Paypal 支付費用為 15 歐元;此費用經繳交後恕不退還)。ss space space 作為藝術家自主營運的獨立藝術空間,我們深知每一分資源的珍貴與得來不易。因此,為確保每一份投件計畫皆能獲得公平且嚴謹的對待,此申請費用將作為本計畫營運之款項,包含行政與審查作業,藝術家培力計劃、展覽計畫籌備與執行等。透過這些資源的整合,我們得以深化策展研究與展覽製作的完整性。

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Before submitting your application, please read the Open Call guidelines carefully. By submitting an application, you agree to the following terms:
1. Eligibility and Submission
Applicants must meet all the eligibility criteria outlined.
Incomplete applications, duplicate submissions, or late entries will not be considered.
The application fee is strictly non-refundable under all circumstances, including ineligibility, unsuccessful applications, or voluntary withdrawal.
2. Application Materials
The exhibition proposal and portfolio must accurately represent the applicant’s current practice. ss space space reserves the right to disqualify any application involving plagiarism.
Should the proposal involve the intellectual property of a third party, the applicant must obtain the necessary clearances and bear full legal responsibility.
Submitted materials serve as the basis for selection. The final exhibited works may vary, subject to mutual agreement reached during the Artist Development Programme.
3. Selection Process
The decisions made by ss space space are final.
Due to limited administrative resources, we are unable to provide individual feedback on unsuccessful applications.
Should no submissions align with this year’s curatorial vision, ss space space reserves the right to withhold the award.
4. Exhibition and Transport
The selected project and artworks must remain on-site for the entire duration of the exhibition.
The applicant is responsible for arranging the transport of artworks. All transport, installation, and de-installation must be completed strictly on the specified dates.
5. Installation and Exhibition Layout
The spatial layout and presentation will be determined collaboratively by the selected applicant and the ss space space team.
The selected applicant must be present in person to complete the installation and de-installation. If unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances, the applicant must reach a prior agreement with ss space space and provide detailed instructions.
Following the exhibition, the applicant is required to restore the venue and equipment to their original condition.
6. Artwork Sales and Commission
ss space space will handle all artwork sales during the exhibition. The artist will receive 50% of the final sale price for any works sold.
Our team will provide professional advice on artwork pricing during the Artist Development Programme.
7. Costs and Resources
The EUR 15 application fee will be allocated towards administrative review processes, the Artist Development Programme, and exhibition production.
The selected applicant will receive an exhibition production grant of NTD 22,000, alongside administrative and technical support. Payment details will be formalised in an Exhibition Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
Please note: This programme does not cover international return flights, visa fees, or accommodation in Taiwan. Overseas applicants, or those residing outside the Greater Taipei area, are responsible for sourcing their own travel and accommodation funding. ss space space can provide official letters of invitation to support external grant applications.
8. Data Protection
Personal information provided in the application will be used exclusively for the review process and subsequent promotional planning.
9. Programme Amendments
In the event of force majeure or operational necessity, ss space space reserves the right to amend project details, exhibition dates, or schedules. Any changes will be discussed with the selected applicant.
If it is discovered that the information provided in an application is falsified, ss space space reserves the right to revoke the applicant's eligibility.

提交本次徵件計畫之申請前,請詳閱徵件辦法與注意事項,提交申請即代表同意以下所有事項,包含:
1. 申請資格與投件
申請者須符合本計畫所列之資格標準。

資料不全、重複投件或逾期遞交之申請,恕不予受理。
報名費用一經繳納概不退還,包含申請資格不符、未獲選或主動撤回申請等情況。
2. 申請資料
本次申請所提交之展覽提案與作品參考須如實代表申請者當前之藝術實踐狀態。若有涉及抄襲他人之作品,ss space space 保有取消其申請資格之權利。
申請者如有涉及第三人之智慧財產權或其他權益時,應取得授權同意並承擔一切法律責仼。
提交之資料僅作為評選依據,最終展出之作品可有所不同。獲選者將於後續「藝術家培力計畫」期間與 ss space space 一同討論與協作以達成共識。
3. 評選
ss space space 所做出之評選結果即為最終決定。
因行政資源考量,恕無法針對未獲選之申請提供個別回饋建議。
評選結果將反映 ss space space該年度之策展與研究方向。若經 ss space space 認定無符合本次計畫之申請時,得以從缺。
4. 展出與運輸
獲選計畫與作品必須確保於展覽期間皆能完整展出。
作品之進場與撤展之運輸由申請者自行安排,惟運輸、佈展與撤展須於指定日期完成作業。
5. 佈展與展場呈現
展場空間配置與呈現方式,將由獲選者與 ss space space 團隊共同討論與決定之。
獲選者須親自出席並完整執行佈卸展作業,若因故無法出席,須提前與 ss space space 團隊達成協議並提供詳細之工作流程說明。
展覽結束後,獲選者應於卸展完成後,將場地與設備恢復至原使用狀態。
6. 作品銷售與抽成
ss space space 將負責展覽期間作品銷售事宜。售出之作品應按本展覽參展作品成交價之 50% 結算予藝術家。
ss space space 團隊將在藝術家培力計畫期間提供作品定價之專業建議。
7. 費用與資源
本計畫所收取之申請費新台幣 400 元,將用於行政與審查作業,藝術家培力計劃、展覽計畫籌備與執行。
獲選者將由 ss space space 提供新台幣 22,000 元整之展覽製作經費補助、藝術家培力計劃、行政與技術支援,撥款細節將於後續簽署之展覽備忘錄中確認。
本計畫不包含獲選者之國際來回機票、簽證辦理與在台住宿費用,海外或非雙北地區申請者須自行籌措相關旅宿經費。建議獲選者可另行申請補助以利計畫進行,ss space space 將可視需求提供邀請函或其他文件以協助獲選者申請補助。
8. 資料使用
申請資料中所包含之個人資訊,僅用於本次徵件之審查與計畫宣傳規劃之素材。
9. 計畫變更
在面臨不可抗力或營運必要之情況下,ss space space 保留修改計畫細節、展覽檔期或時程表之權利,並將與計畫獲選者一同討論及訂定修改辦法。
若經查證發現投件所提供之申請資訊有造假或蓄意誤導之實,ss space space 有權撤銷其參與本次徵件計畫之資格。
