Sara Wu (b. 1994 in Taiwan) works in Taipei. Her artistic practices encompass photography, sculpture, and installation. In her art, she often suspends the surfaces of overlooked, mundane events which are inspired by observations on and identifications of existing daily experiences, and the annotation of its re-experience.

Her works have received awards from Parallel Photo Platform and Taipei Art Awards, and have been exhibited in Künstlerhaus Bethanien  in Berlin, the Royal Society of Sculptors in London, and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts. She has recently founded an artist-led experimental space ss space space with artist Sean Tseng.

 

吳依宣 (Sara Wu) 的創作靈感經常來⾃於⽣活中容易被忽略的事物與空間。她經常透過影像去觀察、蒐集這些空間,並嘗試練習以視覺去引領感知,藉此重新經驗被壓製成「表⾯」 的⽣活世界。經由影像、裝置、拾得物在各種空間的相遇、轉換,她嘗試透過作品去探索物質在不同時空敘事中開展與隱藏訊息的能⼒,並從中思考事物的存在狀態,與其所映照出的個⼈狀態與集體社會現象。

作品曾於英國皇家雕塑學會(Royal Society of Sculptor)、德國貝塔寧藝術家之家(Künstlerhaus Bethanien)、布達佩斯卡帕當代攝影中⼼(Robert cape centre),以及臺北市立美術館、國立臺灣美術館等。作品曾獲2022年臺北美術獎優選、2021年桃源國際藝術獎優選、2019年歐洲Parallel PhotoPlatform計畫。
